Most computer retailers no longer supply an XP, Vista or Windows 7, 8, 8.1 or 10 DVD.
Most computer Retailers supply the Operating System pre-installed, when you bought your machine. Usually this will be an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) version as supplied with your machine. This means that it is down to the manufacturer of the machine to provide you with any support required and NOT Microsoft.
Most Retailers should provide a recovery disk in the event of a problem. Whilst this is OK for them, in that they can drive down prices by doing so, what happens when your hard drive does fail ? Most mechanical hard drives will start giving problems after about four years.
You still own the licence to the Operating System, but are unable to use it and the chances are that your Recovery Disk will not work either. Computer Solutions can in most cases help with this problem and have your computer working no time at all.
Windows 10 is the current Operating System from Microsoft and both retail and OEM versions are available.
Retail versions are more expensive and may be cosmetically different, but in essence they are the same product. The difference is that with the retail version you are entitled to support from Microsoft.
